SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. It's a measure used to evaluate the efficiency of air conditioning units, heat pumps, and other similar systems. SEER represents the cooling output (in BTUs - British Thermal Units) over a typical cooling season, divided by the total energy input (in watt-hours) during that season.
In simpler terms, SEER measures how much cooling a system provides for each unit of energy it consumes. The higher the SEER rating, the more energy-efficient the system is, meaning it uses less electricity to cool a space.
If a cooling system has a SEER of 15, it means for every 1 watt-hour of electricity it consumes, it provides 15 BTUs of cooling.
In practice, modern systems typically have SEER ratings ranging from 13 to 25, with higher numbers reflecting more efficient, eco-friendly, and cost-effective units.

A rule of thumb, you should install 1 Ton per 400-500sq.ft. of space. This number goes down for high ceiling homes.
The price of HVAC is on the rise, and forecasts show an upward trend into 2022. Parts and labor have substantially increased due to the rising inflation rates and COVID-19 related effects on the industry. We expect prices to continue to increase every quarter.
It's common that unlicensed contractors wont offer a valid insurance. Cutting corners like this allows them to offer lower prices, but it presents a big risk for homeowners. If a contractor doesn't have the proper insurance, the homeowner can be liable for costs related to an accidental property damage and more.
